Red Carpet Favorites: Billboard Music Awards

With a music awards red carpet, you just never know what you are going to get. However, with this year’s Billboard Music Awards, I was pleasantly surprised. At least for the most part… you know there’s always a couple crazies in every crew! Between gowns that I am severely jealous of {hello Carrie!!}, beautiful makeup {hello Zooey!!}, and super funky fun hair {hello Lacey!!}. I was loving so much… Here are my favorites from the evening…

Met Gala Fashion

What a week this is! First the Derby, and now the Met Gala! I absolutely adore this event. I speak as if I attend every year, when in actuality, I watched it on Vogue.com dressed in my finest workout gear. Glamorous, I know. The gowns for this event always seem to be some of the classiest of the entire season. And I clearly had incredible trouble narrowing it down to a select few. I just adored gown, after fabulous gown. They were bigger, brighter, and more shapely than most of what we have seen this season.

Red Carpet Favorites: The People’s Choice Awards

Awards season has officially begun and I am completely giddy about it! I love the anticipation of all the fabulous gowns, and the ever-present peek each celeb’s outfit gives us into the season ahead. Will there be pastels? Neons? Jewel tones? Or how about the shapes, lengths, and materials? It’s all a mystery until that red carpet is rolled out. The People’s Choice Awards this year left me with no disappointment. There were colors, interesting shapes, and just utter style. The following are just a few of my favorites… Who were some of your favorites on this red carpet?

First off, two of my favorite dresses of the evening had a counter part. Another dress on the red carpet that was similar in design structure and general idea, but in the execution of said outfit…it all went south. I find it interesting how one idea can be conveyed in two totally different ways. The first, let’s begin with one of my favorites, Lea Michele.

{Lea Michele can do no wrong in my fashion book}

The counter part? Jennifer Morrison wore a dress very similar in style, but disappointing in the way it resembled a table runner at your grandma’s house.

Another counterpart…Kristen Bell in a lace and leather number that was the perfect combo of the two:

The not so great similar sister? Ashley Greene, {who I was so sad I had to not like her outfit!} also wore a lace and leather combo, but this interpretation just seemed a bit on the Forever21 side:

Ok… and now on to the rest of my FAVORITES!

{I am obsessed with both the shape AND color of this on Ginnifer Goodwin}

{I love how young, fun, and super trendy Beth Behrs looks!}

{I don’t know if I would wear this, but I am loving the actual design of this incredible mini on Lucy Hale}

{Between the color and the design of the sleeve, this is such a feminine dress. And Nina Dobrev is stunning}

{Hostess with the mosses…Kaley Cuoco played host to the festivities and was so elegant doing so}

{Julianne Hough has been a favorite of mine since her days on Dancing with the Stars, and this red carpet is no different. L-O-V-E this shimmery dress!}

Find that Look: Julianne Hough

It made my day when I saw this picture of Julianne Hough sporting this fabulous outfit. I love the two tiers…so classy and different! The white maxi dress is nothing short of genius and could quite possibly be the most fantastic summer uniform e-v-e-r.

Julianne’s dress I’m almost certain is a Diane von Furstenberg creation, and therefore a tiny bit on the pricey side of things. So I have put together a little selection of dresses that I feel are similar to this one, and that perfectly embody the complete essence of a summer day.

This one is the closest in similarities to the von Furstenberg.

I love this one shoulder ruffle.

This is wonderfully summer-y and very pocket-book friendly!

I have a dress just like this, with the same accordion two tier top and I love it. The fit is just perfect and flows in wonderful wispy perfection.

Happy Shopping!

Red Carpet Favorites: The Grammys

Ok. Wow. So the Grammys definitely invoke a totally different vibe than any other award show. Shock value seems to be more the goal vs. glamour. Being a lover of all things fashion, I still appreciate this, but I have to be honest, it took a lot of weeding through some nutty stuff to get to these fav’s. Don’t worry, there will be a post later this week highlighting the crazy. It was too crazy to not be talked about. Like I said, I totally ‘appreciate’ said outfits, I just can’t exactly put my ‘fav’ stamp on them. So let’s get to the sweet stuff!

I’ve been a Julianne Hough fan from the beginning of Dancing with the Stars, and I love how she’s embracing this new fun pattern trend in this Malandrino gown.

Best complete look, needs to go to Diana Agron. I loved everything about this. The hair, the makeup, the Vivienne Westwood dress {that woman knows how to create a killer bodice}, and the classic shoe. Total win. Totally jealous.

A surprise for me last night, was that I really like Kelly Osbourne’s Tadashi Shoji gown. So happy to see a fun color with awesome texture on the red carpet.

Selena Gomez looked super dressy and grown up in this J. Mendel gown. Again, another outfit where I loved the entire ensemble. Hair, jewels, dress, and that lipstick sure looks familiar!

Naya Rivera killed it in this super cool multi dimensional silver gown. Again, I love the hint of a pattern, and uber cool bustle.

Miranda Lambert totally scored one for the country team in this super creative one shoulder Edition by George Chakra collection gown.

Eva Longoria is always so creative in her fashion choices, a night at the Grammys was no different. I love this short and sassy Ashi Studio dress.

And once again, Lea Michelle is yet another one of my favorites on the red carpet. Emilio Pucci high slit dress, colorful jewels, and bright makeup.  A great twist on the classic black gown.
