Find that Look: Jillian Harris

Now that I’ve recently divulged my secret for loving all things reality tv, I feel like this is a safe place to talk about how much I am a fan of Jillian Harris, of the Bachelorette fame. The perky Canadian interior designer is also a fabulous fashionista and I love to follow her fashion sense. Case in point today. The perfect “work-y” type outfit that is still bright and perfect for summer.

First let’s talk about that adorable blazer. The key to a good one is fit, fit, fit. You don’t want to look like you borrow your man’s. Blazers are not meant to be frumpy, but sleek and sassy. The white color is perfect for summer.

Since it is summer, you want to make sure you love the look of your top sans the blazer. A top in a lightweight material like this one is also key.

If you are going to tuck in your shirt, you have to have a very specific type of jean. Not too high wasted, and not too low-rise. For that style I love Citizen.

Skinny belts are perfect for tucking a cute top in. It doesn’t take too much away from the outfit and no girl wants anything too much added to her waistline.

Springtime Cuteness

Nothing says springtime like a romper. Who says they are just for little kids? Well ok, maybe some people. But I really love them. Not each and everyone one of course, but most in the general sense of the idea are quite lovely. You have to be terribly careful with the fit so that you do not cross over into the land of extreme shortened torso. Short rompers are perfect for running errands and long pant rompers can even be jazzed up for a night out with the right shoe, jacket or sweater, and baubles. The best part about this trend? Lines from the most expensive, down to the most affordable are creating them! Here are some of my favorites.

This one from Forever 21 would be great for a spring or summer day of errands.

This one would be so perfect for a Friday night. Pair it with some fun high shoes, and you are set.

I love the pattern on this long pant option. Pair with some great wooden shoes, and even opt for a light cardigan if need be, and spring perfection!

I love the crochet detailing on this one. Great for day or night.

Another great option for springtime errands, is this adorable floral pattern. Pair with metallic sandals, a long crocheted vest, and a really earthy purse.
