Peplum is everywhere right now. I’ve had a few key pieces from this trend in my closet for a while, so I was super giddy when I started seeing it on the runways. What is peplum? Well I thought you’d never ask! It derives from the Greek word “tunic” and is, by definition, “A short overskirt or ruffle attached at the waistline of a jacket, blouse, or dress”. The little flounce of ruffle is just so whimsical! The look can also be incredibly versatile. It can be super over the top girlie, but some other designs can perfectly fit into a work ensemble. Save the over the top ruffles and large bows for playtime, and for work stick to more subtle hints of peplum. Skirts, jackets, tops…there’s so much fun fashion to share, I had to break it down a bit.
